依托文本“主题词汇”的“三维一体”英语读写教学策略

摘 要:从写作的基础、素材和升华三个维度阐述了如何在高中英语阅读教学中进行主题词汇与写作的有机结合。在平时的阅读教学过程中,作者把阅读材料的语言和知识、话题和体裁、主题和内涵加以分析和运用,结合案例列举了在教学过程中实施的一些教学方法,努力将阅读教学、主题词汇与写作教学进行有机的结合,从而达到教学的最优化。

《普通高中语文课程标准》指出:根据高中学生认知能力发展的特点和学业发展的需求,高中英语课程应“着重提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力”。语言学习的过程体现为输入—内化—输出。阅读是学生学习英语的主要输入途径之一,写作则是语言输出的关键途径之一。新课程标准指出,写作教学的目的是通过对学生激活灵感、激发兴趣、整理思路、组织素材、规划结构、遣词造句等基本写作技能的培养,使他们能表达事实观点情感和想象力,交流信息,培养规范的写作习惯(教育部,2004)。新课程标准把写作要求提高到了一个新的层面,更加突出了对谋篇布局、遣词造句、情感表达的要求。因此,在阅读教学中笔者利用阅读材料的特点以及对阅读材料的整合进行主题词汇的归类与写作技巧的渗透是十分有必要的。

一、写作的基础——有效整合阅读文本的语言和知识

提高写作能力的基础和前提是充足的词汇量和丰富的句型。没有充足的词汇量和丰富的句型作保证,写作将无法有效进行。因此,在阅读教学中教师要有意识地向学生输入词汇和句型,并采用丰富的教学活动来培养学生应用这些词汇和句型的能力,从而为他们的写作打下基础。高中阶段的阅读材料为学生提供了丰富的词汇和句型。按照语言生成规律,英语写作的次序应是:词—句—篇(殷志勇,2008)。阅读教学过程中教师应该重视词汇和句型的输入。因而,在课堂教学中教师可以利用不同的教学形式使学生在记住这些词汇和句型,同时更能够灵活地加以应用。教师在进行不同话题的阅读文本教学时,可将词汇、短语或句型按主题或功能意念等进行分类串联。如“性格与行为特征”“家人、朋友和周围的人”“学校生活”“生活起居”“兴趣与爱好”等。笔者在进行模块5“Great Scientists”的单元文本教学时,笔者结合以前教材中的有关名人与成就的内容,进行读后词汇拓展输出,让学生重点归纳有关“成功与成败”这一主题的词汇(如下表),并进行形式不同的词汇巩固练习,为该话题的写作奠定基础。 ■

任务:话题与句子翻译。

主题词汇:成功和失败。

任务设计:

(1)根据名人的故事,让学生说出有关“成功和失败”的词汇与短语。

(2)根据主题词汇翻译下列句子。

①成功源自不懈的努力与坚持。

②尽管他没有实现他的目标,可从未放弃与丧失信心。

③只有正确地面对失败,我们才能理解成功的真正含义。

④只有通过体验失败,我们才能更好地品尝成功的喜悦。

设计意图:通过大量该主题词汇的语言输出,为后期的写作积累语料。

二、写作的素材——合理利用阅读文本的话题和体裁

人教版高中英语教材(下同)是以话题为纲编写的,话题内容范围广泛,如,旅游、留学、体育、健康生活以及自然灾害等。同样,文章的体裁也是丰富多彩的,如,人物传记、信件、日记、诗歌、戏剧、说明文、议论文以及记叙文等。这些都为学生的写作提供了许多素材和范本。教师在阅读教学中应该有意识地分析这些话题和体裁类的文章的写作特点。总结一些规律,布置一些类似的写作任务让学生去模仿这些写作特点,对这些阅读材料进行仿写。 仿写即指导学生抓住阅读文本中具有明显特征具有价值的精彩片段,让学生运用习得的写作方法积累语言图示和言语内容,以随文练笔的形式仿照文本进行写话训练(史彩平,

2007)。仿写既可以针对全篇课文,又可以针对片段练习,包括对句式表达段落构成开头结尾或过渡照应等方面的仿写。通过仿写,学生能在模仿中迁移,在模仿中创新。(朱文英,2008)人教版Module 7 Unit 1中有一段描述Marty的得病过程。

Even after all that,no one could give my disease a name and it is difficult to know what the future holds.

教师应该善于发现这些潜在的时间顺序连接词,可以让学生用这些关键词来描述他们的自身的一次经历,从而达到熟练运用和掌握衔接语的目的。分析段落自身的结构其实就是发现好的衔接语。巧妙运用衔接语可以给文章增色,使文章浑然一体,语句流畅。教师应该让学生领悟衔接语的含义和作用,并指导他们在写作中灵活巧妙地使用衔接语,以提高他们遣词造句、整合语篇的能力(沈正南,2009)。

任务:话题的模仿。

主题词汇:成功和失败。

任务设计:请以“One thing I’m Proud of ”为题,用英语写一篇100~120个词的短文,记叙一件你自己认为得意的事情。要求:(1)记叙事情的经过;(2)简要说明你感到得意的原因或从中得到的启示。

三、写作的升华——突破文本框架,巩固和延伸读写能力

课堂教学不应是封闭的,也不应拘泥于预先设定的模式。教师要突破文本的框架,给学生提供更灵活的输入和输出渠道。在语言输出环节,教师不能限制学生的思维,而要给学生足够的发展空间,体现学生的主体性。比如,Module 7 Unit 1(Living well)Warming up 与Reading部分的文本材料讲述了残疾人如何克服身心障碍并战胜各种困难以及Marty身残志坚、热爱生活的故事。在进行整体阅读后,教师可通过主题词汇(成功与失败)以及相关的句型和写作技巧指导,设计合理的写作任务,创造性地使用教材资源,确保学生内化所学的知识,并把课堂教学有效地延伸到学生课后的学习中去。

案例3:

任务:高考作文模拟(看图作文)。

主题词汇:成功和失败。

任务设计:请根据下面提示,写一篇英语短文。

设计意图:通过半开放式写作任务的操练,一方面培养学生的思辨能力,另一方面拓展延伸学生的看图作文的写作技巧以及对主题词汇的灵活运用。

总而言之,阅读是语言的输入,而写作是语言的输出,输入的目的是为了输出。教师应根据阅读文章的特征和学生已有的英语知识和能力,把握教材内容,把教学设计的重心放在学生的认知活动和情感体验上,打造有效的读写结合的课堂。在高中英语教学中灵活性、创造性地利用教材,合理运用“主题词汇与写作有效结合”的教学策略,能有效提高学生的综合语言运用能力,尤其是写作能力。这不仅符合新课标的精神,同时还与高考的要求相吻合。 参考文献:
