Having broken her wings by the blow, she fell to the ground, and was caught by one of the bystanders.
Zeal should not outrun discretion.

One day the wind said to the sun, “Look at that man walking along the road. I can get
his cloak off more quickly than you can.”
“We will see about that,” said the sun. “I will let you try first.”
So the wind tried to make the man take off his cloak. He blew and blew, but the man
only pulled his cloak more closely around himself.

The old man is very angry. He beats his cat. He says: “You are a fool cat. I will punish you!” the cat is very sad. He thinks：“When I was young, I worked hard for you. Now you don’t like me because I’m too old to work. You should know you are old, too.”

注：对本次英语故事演讲活动的说明：“培养卓越口才”对学生是终身受用的。一个学生敢于讲话、敢于表达思想，表明这个孩子有强烈的自信心。自信心对于一个学生来说，是安身立世之本。而人际间的沟通能力和表达能力恰恰是我们教育里所缺乏的。
新教育提倡把发言权还给我们的孩子，要通过开展一系列口才训练活动，让孩子去思考、去表达，利用好课堂环境和外部环境，多角度对学生进行语言训练，达到培养卓越口才、打造自信人生之目的。

小学三年级英语教育故事：帮助后进生转化
本学期我担任小学三年级的英语教学。三年级共三个班，刚上二班课的时候，我感到很苦恼，班里学生乱作一团，回答问题也是不举手，七嘴八舌乱说。男孩子还可以吵他们一顿，女孩子怎么办呢?有个女生，在班里英语学习较差，原因有三种情况，小学生本身自制能力就差，他的母亲和父亲做生意没时间管他。本学生表现在课堂上不专心听讲，喜欢和同学讲话，在下面玩。作业不交，不完成。 针对这个学生我采取了以下措施：
一、从关心爱护入手。针对这种情况，我没有责备他，也没有鄙视他，而是给了他更多的“偏爱”，不论在生活上还是学习上我都是加倍的关心他、爱护他，开始我先抓住课间休息的时间找他到办公室和他谈心。在课堂上，我认命她为他们所在组的小组长，负责收作业和管理小组，当时有其他小组成员不同意，喊道：‘她什么都不会，不要选她。’但当时我坚持选她，成绩不好，只要努力是完全可以赶上的，我们要对她有信心。事实证明我是对的，侯相婷在以后的课堂上坐姿端正，听课认真，回答问题也非常积极。我很欣慰，同时我也想到教育成功了一半。
二、有耐心。我知道一个学生思想水平及学习成绩的提高不是一次教育能解决的，而要靠多次，多方面一直反复的教育。对待侯湘婷，我反复抓，努力找机会去关心他，其中我做到“三不”：不急，不火，
不粗暴；让他感觉到了学校的爱，教师的爱是永远的。教学中发现一点的进步，及时给与表扬和肯定，对于她在课堂上爱提意见和抱怨的毛病，我故意安排她在小组活动中多参与，让她感到心服口服，对老师产生了信任感。学习成绩也自然上升了，而且提高非常迅速。
小学教育是基础教育，由于先天条件、环境及学习上努力的不同程度，每个学生的知识基础和智力发展不平衡，耐心教育，倾注一片爱心是转化后进生的感情基础。后进生的转化不仅需要有教师的爱心，还要坚持耐心教育。耐心教育，就是对学生由浅入深，由表及里，反反复复地进行教育。有的学生经过教育耐心教育，思想、行动上有所转变，但过不了多久，又“旧病”复发。为此，我本着“耐心教育，倾注一片爱心”为宗旨，定期做到“查、观、问、考”的办法指导后进生进行自我教育，并做好跟踪教育，及时纠正错误，致使该生完全变好为止。我根据每个后进生的特点，从尊重、爱护、鼓励等方面去启发他们，使其在学习、生活上充满信心，争当先进，收到较好的效果。另外我还经常与家长联系。我报喜不报忧，当他有一点进步时我就告诉他家长，那样他家人也很高兴，回家后他能收到爸爸妈妈的表扬，一天天学习积极性变大，进步也很快。

英语教学在小学特别是低年级的教学中特别的不容易进行，有时候他们连汉语拼音都拼不好更何况是接触例外一种语言文字的学习呢。在教学中他们不知道老师在说什么也不懂老师所发出的的指令，有时候会觉得叫他们英语真的很无力。但是有时候你又会觉得他们真的很可爱，他们虽然不会但是他们会尽自己最大的努力去学去模仿。
最难忘的是在教学三年级英语Unit4 Part A Let’s Learn和Let’s do部分。在教学新课中我先运用前一个部分的知识复习了一下句型“Where is my pencil box ？” “It’s in your desk.”进而引出今天的新课内容“in, on ,under, chair, desk ”在教学中用到一个盒子分别的展示in里面，on上面，under下面，这样既形象又直观，很快的让学生掌握了这3个单词的区别。并编好chant“里面里面in，上面上面on，下面下面under”并边说边做动作，这样让学生既掌握了读音又了解了区别，记住了意思。在教学chair和desk是用实物讲解，更加深了他们的记忆。最好玩也是最成功的就表现在Let’s do部分。起初我先教读了几次，可他们总是记不住怎么读，于是我改变了教学方法，在做动作的时候教读，是了几次之后我发现他们都能正确的读出句子以及做出正确的动作。做了四五次之后，我都已经大汗淋漓了，可我都没有出声，这时一个学生就笑着跟我说：“老师，好热啊，我们都出汗了。”这时我才发现他们其实跟我一样，我在努力的教，他们也在努力的学。

A DOG, crossing a bridge over a stream with a piece of flesh in his mouth, saw his own shadow in the water, and took it for that of another Dog, with a piece of meat double his own in size. He therefore let go his own, and fiercely attacked the other Dog, to get his larger piece from him. He thus lost both: that which he grasped at in the water, because it was a shadow; and his own, because the stream swept it away.

The Old Cat
An old woman had a cat. The cat was very old; she could not run quickly, and she could not bite, because she was so old. One day the old cat saw a mouse; she jumped and caught the mouse. But she could not bite it; so the mouse got out of her mouth and ran away, because the cat could not bite it.
Then the old woman became very angry because the cat had not killed the mouse. She began to hit the cat. The cat said, "Do not hit your old servant. I have worked for you for many years, and I would work for you still, but I am too old. Do not be unkind to the old, but remember what good work the old did when they were young."

Do not throw good things away; you may be glad to have them at some other time.

The City Mouse and the Country Mouse
Once there were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country; the other mouse lived in the city. After many years the Country mouse saw the City mouse; he said, "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City mouse went. The City mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should come and live in the city. You would live in a nice house made of stone. You would have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city."
The Country mouse went to the house of the City mouse. It was a very good house. Nice food was set ready for them to eat. But just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. The City mouse cried, " Run! Run! The cat is coming!" They ran away quickly and hid.
After some time they came out. When they came out, the Country mouse said, "I do not like living in the city. I like living in my hole in the field. For it is nicer to be poor and happy, than to be rich and afraid."

The Raven and the Swan乌鸦和天鹅
A RAVEN saw a Swan and desired to secure for himself the same beautiful plumage. Supposing that the Swan's splendid white color arose from his washing in the water in which he swam, the Raven left the altars in the neighborhood where he picked up his living, and took up residence in the lakes and pools. But cleansing his feathers as often as he would, he could not change their color, while through want of food he perished.
Change of habit cannot alter Nature.

The Goat and the Goatherd 山羊与牧羊人
A GOATHERD had sought to bring back a stray goat to his flock. He whistled and sounded his horn in vain; the straggler paid no attention to the summons. At last the Goatherd threw a stone, and breaking its horn, begged the Goat not to tell his master. The Goat replied, "Why, you silly fellow, the horn will speak though I be silent."
Do not attempt to hide things which cannot be hid.
很多山羊被牧羊人赶到羊圈里。有一只山羊不知在吃什么好东西，单独落在后面。牧羊 人拿起一块石头扔了过去，正巧打断了山羊的一只角。牧羊人吓得请求山羊不要告诉主人， 山羊说：“即使我不说，又怎能隐瞒下去呢？我的角已断了，这是十分明显的事实。”
这故事说明，明显的罪状是无法隐瞒的。
The Wolf and the Lamb 狼与小羊
WOLF, meeting with a Lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea to justify to the Lamb the Wolf's right to eat him. He thus addressed him:"Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me." "Indeed," bleated the
Lamb in a mournful tone of voice, "I was not then born." Then said the Wolf , "You feed in my pasture." "No, good sir," replied the Lamb, "I have not yet tasted grass." Again said the Wolf, "You drink of my well." "No," exclaimed the Lamb, "I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother's milk is both food and drink to me." Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, "Well! I won't remain supperless, even though you refute every one of my imputations."
The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.

The Bat and the Weasels蝙蝠与黄鼠狼
A BAT who fell upon the ground and was caught by a Weasel pleaded to be spared his life. The Weasel refused, saying that he was by nature the enemy of all birds. The Bat assured him that he was not a bird, but a mouse, and thus was set free. Shortly afterwards the Bat again fell to the ground and was caught by another Weasel, whom he likewise entreated not to eat him. The Weasel said that he had a special hostility to mice. The Bat assured him that he was not a mouse, but a bat, and thus a second time escaped.
It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.

The House of 1000 Mirrors
千镜之屋
Long ago in a small, faraway village, there was a place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he hounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and firendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."
In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. Piccola
Once there lived in France a little girl named Piccola. When she was very young, her father died, and her mother was very, very poor.
One Christmas Eve Piccola said to her mother, "Mamma, will Uncle Santa come to our house tonight?" Her mother felt very sad and shook her head.
Before she went to bed, Piccola took off her little wooden shoes and put them on the floor near the chimney. She said to her mother, “Perhaps Uncle Santa will come.” All was white with snow outside, and it was very cold.
In the night a little bird with a broken wing fell down the chimney and hopped into one of the shoes. Very early in the morning Piccola woke up. She jumped out of bed and ran to look into her shoes.
There she saw the little bird in one of the shoes. She picked up the shoe and ran to show her Christmas present to her mother. She said, "Santa Claus did not forget me, Mamma."
One day a fox said to himself ,"I am hungry.Let me see what I can find to eat ."
The fox looked up and down for something to eat .After a moment he came to a wall .The wall was very high .The fox stopped at the bottom of the wall and looked up .At the top of the wall ,he saw some beautiful grapes .Then he started to jump up to get the grapes ,but he couldn't get them .The wall was too high for him .
Finally the fox went away and said ,"I don't want to eat those grapes.They are green .I don't think they are good to eat."
The Wind And The Sun
One day the wind said to the sun, “Look at that man walking along the road. I can get his cloak off more quickly than you can.”

我是一名农村小学英语教师，我从事英语教学工作才一年。虽然教学经验不足，但我对教学工作认真学习，深入研究教法，并虚心向别人学习。在教学工作中我通过自己学习摸索并向他人借鉴。我总结了自己的一些教学形式 , 主要体现在以下方面 , 在英语课堂中我采用多样化活动教学。就是在教学中把音乐、简单的动作、游戏、比赛等融入到课堂中，激发学生的求知欲，活跃课堂气氛，使每堂英语课真正地 "活"起来。 歌曲在英语课堂教学中是必不可少的。针对孩子们天生活泼好动的性格，我用英语歌曲导入，组织课堂教学，效果很好。对于低年级的同学来说，他们爱表演，所以我给每首歌都编了简单的动作，尽管有些动作很简单，但是学生却很乐于参与。我也曾让他们根据歌曲的意思自己编动作，孩子们更是喜欢，甚至有些孩子编的动作比我编的还要好。对于小学生来说，他们活泼好动，利用英文歌曲，加上简单的动作就可以形成较好的课堂组织教学形式了。对于游戏，孩子们也是乐此不疲的，我在平常的英语教学中， "猜一猜"、"模仿秀"、等游戏都是常做的。利用游戏教学，能够真正地实现"在玩中学，在学中玩"。
"书本是死的，人是活的 "，所以我在教授内容时，为了激发学生的学习兴趣，对教材进行适当地删除添补，激发学生学英语的兴趣，让他们觉得学英语原来是如此地有趣。激发学生的创新意识，为了保持小学生们学习英语的持久兴趣，在英语课上，我把他们所学的其它学科的相关内容融入到课堂教学之中。
要设计好一堂课，最重要的就是要抓住学生的心理特点。英语教学就是寓教于乐于课堂之中。另外，要保证我在进入课堂之前有一个好的心态，要想一想这节课我要教给学生什么。"对于老师而言，"每堂课起码要对得起天真可爱的孩子"。而不能说你今天心情不好，就随随便便地上课。有时很多小孩确实很调皮，怎么办呢？学着自己去开导自己，"何必跟自己过不去呢？"有这么一句话，"生气是拿别人的错误来惩罚自己"。所以课堂中保持一个好心态是很重要的。"学着爱上你的教学，爱上你的学生，学会去享受每一堂课。"只要摆好心态，就会发现原来学生们都是那么地可爱，上英语课不再有那么多的烦恼。
