July already, and the land is soon to burn, the sun at midday casting its least shadow. Across the road, the unmown pasture(草地,牧场) will whiten

under its glare, and the world goes brittle(易碎的) with heat. The land loves the light, and suffers from the light, and lets it go when the day is done. The illuminated(被照明的) air has a density, and I feel

as though I should part it with my hands when I step from the shade. You don't have to look hard to see that the light is always leaving— even rising towards you, taking its lowest angle down the countryside, it is passing. The days should be getting shorter but I can't sense it in the slow coursing of this one. It is difficult to believe

even the things you've seen; there is nothing that I know

for certain. A mockingbird(模仿鸟,知更鸟) lands on a post and has more to say

about what will bear us skyward than I do. The day is without music—

or any that is organized in a way I can hear. It is easy to forget the words you've read in books and all you've been told is true with the world this bright and close at hand. I am learning to look with a new kind of wanting. There are a few minutes as the day dims when the details in the distant line of trees become clarified, the tree forms taking on greater depth, their lobed(分裂的,有叶的) leaves individuated

as the light releases them, the rich texturing of each tree

suddenly present, rendered with a painstaking(艰苦的,勤勉的) draftsmanship(制图术) ,

then they blacken and solidify, emptied of every last particular, a jagged line backed by a sky which will stay brilliant for some time to come, as though the light that once lay in the weeds now waits in the air above, wondering, I suppose, why it is we do not follow.

【指导思想】旨在丰富校园生活,为营造英语学习氛围,提升学生英语学习品味,培养学生英语学习能力,以素质拓展为目的,在朗诵英文美文中品味东西方文化的精髓,提高同学们的参与积极性和同学们的综合素质。特在校内举办英语诗歌诵读比赛。

【活动目的】为展现我校学生蓬勃向上的精神风貌,营造良好和谐的校园文化,提高学生的英文鉴赏能力和同学们的人文素质和道德情操,在参与中感受中西方文化的魅力,特举办此活动。 【参赛对象】初一级部学生。 【活动实施】初一英语组承办。 【活动时间】2013年6月份 【活动地点】阶梯教室 【活动流程】

1. 报名、初赛、 准备

自愿参与。每人摘选英语原创诗歌一首,要求内容健康,与自己的学情相符。查阅生词,自行练习诵读,在班内诵读自己所选篇目,由各班英语教师在班内举行,选出前两名学生参加决赛。

2、决赛:赛前要求各选手请一名本校英语教师作指导,将自己的诵读篇目制成演示文稿,进行配乐朗诵,诵读完毕回答评委问题。

由初一级部全体英语教师作为评委,在阶梯教室进行决赛。 【活动内容】

1、英文诗歌朗诵 (可自配音乐),时间为2-5分钟。

【评分标准】 英文朗诵部分

1.思想内容:主题鲜明突出,寓意深刻,富有感召,其余根据以上要求及具体情况酌情给分。

( 说明:满分15分) 2.语音语调:发音清晰,音调、音高合适,连读、词重音、句重音、语调节奏等准确适中,英语语音标准,能很好把握节奏,用适当的情感和语调来正确表达诗歌的内涵。

A:发音(20分):语音准确,其中读错或漏读一字扣1分。 B: 语速(10分):语速恰当、声音洪亮,表达自然流畅,每不恰当停顿一次扣0.5分。

C:节奏(10分):节奏优美,富有感情。 ( 说明:满分40分) 3.朗诵能力:感情真挚,表达自然,能较好地运用姿态、动作、手势、表情,反映朗诵内容的内涵。朗诵富有韵味和表现力,能与观众产生共鸣,营造良好的朗诵效果;能够脱稿,朗诵时间控制在3-5分钟之内。 ( 说明:满分25分)(未脱稿朗诵扣3分)

4. 综合印象:上下台致意,答谢。朗诵者着装朴素端庄大方,举止自然得体,,富有艺术感染力。观众反映良好。
