(thee: you thou: you thy: your)

If by your art, my dearest father, you have put the wild waters in this roar, allay them. O, I have suffered with those that I saw suffer

Be collected:

No more amazement: tell your piteous慈悲的 heart. There's no harm done.

米兰达(抱头,叹息!)O, woe the day!

No harm.

I have done nothing but in care of thee, Of thee, my dear one, thee, my daughter, who is ignorant of what thou are, not knowing of whence I am, nor that I am more better Than Prospero, master of a full poor cell, And thy no greater father.

More to know

Did never meddle with my thoughts.

It is time to tell you.

Canst thou(Can you) remember a time before we came unto this cell?

I do not think thou canst, for then you were not out three years old.

Certainly, sir, I can.

It is far off and rather like a dream than an assurance that my remembrance warrants.

Had I not four or five women once that tended me?

Thou hadst(you have), and more, 米兰达. But how is it that this lives in thy mind?

Twelve year since, 米兰达, twelve year since. Thy father was the Duke of Milan and

A prince of power. Thy mother was a piece of virtue.

O the heavens! What foul play had we that we came from there?

My brother and your uncle called Antonio—mark me--that a brother should be so perfidious背信弃义的!, he was one whom of the world I loved.

。。。。。。。。。。。。

普洛斯彼罗 let his brother manage his state; as at that time

Through all the signories(it was the first

And Prospero the prime duke, being so reputed

In dignity, and for the liberal arts

Without a parallel; those being all my study,

The government I cast upon my brother

And to my state grew stranger, being transported

And rapt in secret studies. Thy false uncle--

Dost thou attend me?

Thy false uncle--

Dost thou attend me?

Sir, most heedfully.

I pray you, mark me.

He thus neglecting worldly ends, all dedicated

But in his false brother awaked an evil nature; his ambition growing, he did believe

He was indeed the duke.

Antonia was so despair for the throne that he worked together with the King of Naples,

to give him annual tribute, do him homage, and

subject his coronet to the crown.

Alas, poor Milan! -- To most ignoble stooping.

O the heavens!

The King of Naples, being an enemy-- to me inveterate-- hearkens my brother's suit;

one midnight, fated to the purpose did Antonio open the gates of Milan,

The ministers for the purpose hurried thence me and thy crying you.

米兰达: don’t said father, forget the enmity. Now, you have me, have the island and we have happy life

旁白:yes,Prospero and Miranda are now living a happy life.

To be, or not to be- that is the question: Whether it's nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them, to die- to sleep- No more; And by a sleep to say we end the heartache, and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to. It's a consummation devoutly to be wished. To die- to sleep. To sleep- perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub! For in that sleep of death what dreams may come ? When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause. There's the respect that makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time, the oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, the pangs of despised love, the law's delay, the insolence of office, and the spurns that patient merit of th unworthy takes. When he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would these fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life? But that the dread of something after death- the undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveller returns- puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of. Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, and thus the native hue of resolution is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, and enterprises of great pith and moment with this regard their currents turn away and lose the name of action. 莎士比亚的名言(中英文对照)Better a witty fool than a foolish wit.-Shakespeare宁为聪明的愚夫,不作愚蠢的才子。 A light heart lives long .

Will

thoubegone?Itisnotyetnearday.

SceneV

Capulet’sOrchard

EnterRomeoandJuliet,aloft

Jul.Wiltthoubegone?Itisnotyetnearday.Itwasthenightingale,andnotthelark.Thatpiercedthefearfulhollowofthineear.Nightlyshesingsonyondpomegranate-tree.Believeme,love,itwasthenightingale.Rom.Itwasthelark,theheraldofthemorn.Nonightingale.Look,love,whatenviousstreaks.Dolacetheseveringcloudsinyondereast.Night’scandlesareburntout,andjocunddayStandstiptoeonthemistymountaintops.Imustbegoneandlive,orstayanddie.Jul.Yondlightisnotdaylight,Iknowit,I;Itissomemeteorthatthesunexhales,Tobetotheethisnightatorch-bearer,AndlighttheeonthywaytoMantua;Thereforestayyet;thou,need’stnottobegone.

不是夜莺;看哪,爱人,嫉妨的晨光在东方的云朵上镶好了花边;夜晚的星光已经烧尽,欢乐的白天;已踮起脚尖站在迷雾中的山顶;

那是太阳吐出来的流星。要在今晚替你拿着火炬,照亮你到曼多亚去的路;

A pair of stocks, you rogue!

Grim death, how foul and loathsome is thy visage.

Sirs, I will practice on this drunken man.

For God‟s sake, a pot of small ale!

仆人1: Your honour

仆人2:Your lordship

Call me not ‘honour’, nor ‘lordship’. Am I not Christopher Sly, old Sly‟s son of Burton Heath? Thou art a lord and nothing but a lord.

仆人1: These fifteen years you have been in a dream.

These fifteen years! By my fay, a goodly nap! Upon my life I am a lord indeed!

Your doctors thought it good you hear a play and frame your mind to mirth and merriment. Well, we‟ll see it.

Baptista Minola :Gentlemen, importune me no farther For how I firmly am resolved you know- That is, not to bestow my youngest daughter Before I have a husband for the elder.

(Katherine

Baptista Minola :If either of you both love Katherine. Leave shall you have to court her at your pleasure. To cart her rather! She‟s too rough for me!

Katherine:I pray you, sir, it your will to make a stale of me among these mates?

Mates‟ maid? No mates for you Unless you were of gentler, milder mould.

(Katherine

From all such devils, good Lord deliver us!

And me too, good Lord!

3:20-6:30

Baptista Minola :Bianca, get you in.

And let it not displease thee, good Bianca. For I will love thee ne’er the less, my girl.

Katherine:(对Bianca)A pretty peat!

Bianca:(对Katherine) Sister, content you in my discontent.

(对Baptista Minola ) Sir, to your pleasure humbly I subscribe.

Why will you mew her up, Signor Baptista, for this friend of hell?

Baptista Minola :Gentlemen, content ye. I am resolved.

Katherine, you may stay.

Katherine:Why, and I trust I may go too, may I not?

Well!Well!

What a wretched state of affairs! Old Baptista will never give his consent to the marriage of the fair Bianca, not until a husband is found for Katherine. No consent, no dowry.

Hortensio:My good friend Petruchio! What happy gale blows you to Padua here from old Verona?(站在窗口说)

Petruchio:Such wind as scatters young man through the world. Signor Hortensio, I come to wive it wealthily in Padua; If wealthily, then happily in Padua.(骑马说)

Hortensio:I can, Petruchio, help thee to a wife. With wealth enough, and young, and beauteous, brought up as best becomes a gentlewoman. Her only fault – and that is faults enough- Is that she is intolerable crust, and shrewd and forward. I would not wed her for a mine of gold!

Petruchio:Hortensio, peace. Thou know’st not gold’s effect. I will not sleep, Hortensio, till I see her…

Bianca(被Katherine拖着走):Good sister, wrong me not, nor wrong yourself, to make a bondmaid and a slave of me.(Katherine把Bianca的头压进水里)

Baptista Minola (推开房门说):Why, how now dame, whence grows this insolence.

For shame, thou hilding of a devilish spirit, why does thou wrong her that did ne’er wrong thee?

Bianca, get thee in.

Katherine(对Baptista Minola 说,此时Bianca跑开):Nay, now I see. She is your treasure, she must have a husband, I must dance barefoot on her wedding day!(Baptista Minola 刚要说话被打断) Talk not to me, I will go sit and weep, till I can find occasion for revenge!(说完立刻走开)

Was ever gentleman thus grieved as I?

But who comes here?

Petruchio:(走过来说)I am a gentleman of Verona, sir. Petruchio is my name. Pray have you not a daughter called Katherine, fair and virtuous?

Baptista Minola :I have a daughter, sir, called Katherine.

Petruchio:Signor Baptista, my business asketh haste, and everyday I cannot come to woo. Then tell me, if I get your daughter’s love, what dowry shall I have with her to wife?

6’20’’ __9’30’’

Baptista Minola : After my death, the one half of my lands, and in possession, twenty thousand of my crowns.

Petruchio:: Let covenants be therefore drawn between us.

Baptista Minola : Ay, where the special thing is well obtained. That is, her love; for that is all in all. Petruchio: Why, that is nothing!

Baptista Minola : Well mayst thou woo, and happy be thy speed! Be thou armed for some unhappy words. Shall I send my daughter Kate to you?

(Katherine

Petruchio:: I pray you do, I will attend her here…

Petruchio: Good morrow, Kate, for that’s your name, I hear.

Katherine: Well have you heard , but something hard of hearing; they call me Katherine

me.

Petruchio:: You lie, in faith, for you are called plain Kate, and Bonny Kate, and sometimes Kate the curst. But Kate, the prettiest Kate in Christendom, Hearing thy mildness praised in every town, thy virtues spoke of, and thy beauty sounded, myself am moved to woo thee for a wife!

Katherine: “Moved” in good time! Let him that moved you hither remove you hence!

Petruchio: Come, come, you wasp, I faith, you are too angry.

Katherine: If I be waspish best beware my sting!

Petruchio:: My remedy then is to pluck it out!

Katherine: Ay, if the fool could find it where it lies.

Petruchio:: Who knows not where a was does wear his sting? In his tail. (拍Katherine屁股)

that do talk of

Katherine: And so farewell!

Petruchio:: Nay, come again. Good Kate, I am a gentleman.

Katherine: That I will try! (打Petruchio耳光)

Petruchio:: I swear I will cuff you if you strike again!

Katherine: If you strike me, you are no gentleman.

Petruchio:: In sooth, you scape not so! (抱住Katherine)

Katherine: Let me go!

Petruchio:: Why does the world report that Kate doth limp? O sland’rous world! Kate like the hazel twig is straight and slender. O let me see thee walk. Thou dost not halt.

Katherine: go, fool!(本来面对着说话,此时转身)

Petruchio: Am I not wise?

Katherine: yes, keep you warm.

Petruchio:Marry, so I mean, sweet Katherine, in thy bed. Now, Kate, I am a husband for your turn.

Petruchio: For I am he am born to tame you, Kate. And bring you from a wild Kate to Kate. Conformable as other household Kates.

(Baptista Minola

Baptista Minola : Now, Signor Petruchio, how speed you with my daughter.

Petruchio:How but well, sir? We have greed so well together. That upon Sunday is the wedding day! Katherine:I’ll see thee hanged on Sunday first.

Petruchio:(笑两声,贴着Baptista Minola 的耳朵说悄悄话)ha ha, Tis bargained twixt us twain, being alone, That she shall still be crust in company. I tell you ’tis incredible to believe How much she loves me! O, the kindest Kate! She hung about my neck, and kiss on kiss. She vied so fast, That in a twink she won me to her love!

Baptista Minola :I know not what to say, but give me your hands. God send you joy; Petruchio, ’tis a match.

Petruchio:Provide the feast, father, and bid the guests: I will to Venice, Sunday comes apace. We will have rings and things, and fine array. And kiss me, Kate, we will be married O’ Sunday.

Egeus: Hermia, you have to marry Demetrious, the best guy in the city.

Helena:(恳恳哀求„„) Even though you treat me like that,I still love you the mote. Please let me follow you even I am like your dog.

Demetrious: I am sick when I do look on you!

Helena: But I am sick when I look not on you.

Demetrious: Let me go. Cause I so hate you!

Helena: Don’t leave me alone. Please stay, though you kill me.(追着Demetrious下) 海伦娜:不要离开我,请留下吧,就算你杀了我。

(在一旁的精灵王Oberon看到了这一幕,心中对Helena产生了同情之心„„) Oberon: The poor lady! I have to help her. Welcome, wanderer, have

you get the flower?

Puck: Yes, Here it is.

Oberon: There has been a sweet lady here, who is in love with a cruel youth. If you find him sleeping, drop some of the love-juice in his eyes.

Puck:Ok!

Oberon:Make sure, when he awakes he loves this lady.

Puck: Don’t worry, my lord, your servant shall do so.

Puck: Ah! Who is here? This is him, And she is the lady.

I’ll drop the love-juice in your eyes. Hey! It’s so funny!

Helena: I am out of breath in chasing.Who is lying there? Lysander! Good sir, if you are alive, awake.

Lysander:Whata pretty beauty! Helena, I would go

through fire for your sweet sake.

Helena: Do not say so, Lysander. Don’t you love Hermia?

Lysander: I don’t love her at all. For me, she is just a black raven, and you are a white dove.

Helena: Oh! Why was I born to be mocked and thought nothing of by everyone? Is it not enough, young man? That a lady, of one man refused, should of another be so abused!

Lysander: Helena,my love„„(追随而下)

Hermia: Lysander! Lysander! Where do you go? No sound? No word! If you hear me, please talk to me! I faint almost with fear. Where do you go?

Demetrious上

Demetrious: you are here, my dear Hermia! I found you for a long time.

Hermia: Do you see my Lysander?

Demetrious: who care? I would like his being my dog's food.

Hermia: Out,you dog! Did you really kill him? You are a devil! Lysander,I'm sure I will find you!

Demetrious:She is so angry. I’d better stop following her. I have to take a rest. I'm too tired tonight!

Oberon: Puck,Did you finish your work?

Puck: Sure, I did. And the woman is by his side,

when he waked, of course she must be seen.

Oberon: Hey! He is there! What did you do? Why does the cruel man still sleep here? You must have made a mistake!

Puck: Did I? Oh, I’m sorry.

Oberon: It’s ok,now you can finish it.

Just be careful, do not make a mistake again.

Lysander: Why should you think that I should woo in scorn?

I just hope you could love me.

Helena: Do you give Hermia up? You should vow to her.

Lysander: My heart to her isbut as a guest, now my heart

is to you as a son comes home, never leave.

Demetrious: Oh! Helena, perfect godness!Oh! Let me kiss your hand.

Helena: Oh! Spite! You both love Hermia, and now you both mock me!

Demetrious: Lysander, keep your Hermia. Helena is mine!

Lysander: No! Helena, what he said is a lie!

Helena: you make me confused. Who should I believe in?

{三个人正争执间,Hermia走了上来}

Hermia: Lysander! You are here! Why did you leave me so unkindly?

Lysander: Because I do not love you, don’t you know?
