一.案例背景

现在初中英语口语中考开始实施人机对话,这样对英语平时的听说要求更加的高了。为了配合中考的人机对话的改革要求,突出听说课在牛津英语教学中的重要作用,针对这个问题,笔者开展了对教材中Integrated Skills进行尝试,并以 8A Unit5 Integrated Skills为案例展开。

本单元主要讲述的是观鸟活动和自然保护区的建立,旨在呼吁人们珍爱野生鸟类、动物,保护环境和自然。在备课之前,我对前面的教材作了充分的了解和分析,特别是Reading部分。因为这两部分的内容都是有关于扎龙自然保护区的介绍,而Integrated Skills是Reading 部分的补充和说明。这一节课的导入部分,我运用由几幅鸟儿的图片导入到扎龙自然保护区,利用他们之前对扎龙的了解激发他们想更深入了解的兴趣和愿望,在此之间我还插入了一部介绍扎龙自然保护区以及丹顶鹤的生活的短片,让学生们从视觉上直观生动的对所要学的和听的内容有一个更清晰的概念,提高学生的兴趣和参与教学活动的积极性,同时也为第一部分的听力练习的信息的获取打下伏笔。这对于教师来说,就是充当了一个引路者,引导学生一步一步的进入到理想的境界。

二.案例过程

一) 将学生导入学习情景。

在处理第一部分的听力练习时,根据多元智能理论,发展学生的听力智力和交流智力.我采取了任务型的教学途径,事先让他们对所要获得的信息进行了预测,即筛选出了可以直接得到答案的题目,又明确了所要听取的关键信息,带着这些任务和目的去听。

在同学们获得正确答案之后,为了进一步培养学生语言的交流能力,为学生提供尽可能多的机会,发挥学生学习的主动性和创造性,我在屏幕上给出了扎龙自然保护区的简单资料:设计二

鼓励他们以小组合作的形式作一个简短的report, 然后推荐一个同学把它说出来。同学们反映很热烈,积极地参与讨论,在语言能力得到充分发展的同时,思维能力、合作能力、参与意识也得到了有效的培养。而我这时由一位引路人退到一边,变成一个观众.简短的Report,同学们说的有声有色。

二) 使学生掌握核心知识。

第二部分的听力学生是建立在第一部分的基础之上的,同样在对所要获取得信息充分预测的基础之上,听课文录音,整体感知阅读材料,领略文章大意。播放第一遍录音之前,我提出一两个概括全文主要内容的问题,使之带着问题有效地去聆听,获得信息。放第二遍录音之前,要求学生在听的时候,写下重要信息,关键词句。听完之后,由于课文内容较长较难,我让学生再听了一遍,巩固一、二两遍所听到的信息和知

识。同时,要求学生在自己已写的内容上再补充一些第三遍所听到的信息。在处理答案时,我改变了平时老师给出答案的习惯,把主动权交给了学生,让学生成为真正的“主角”,我挑选了一位学习状况比较好的学生,让他先给出答案,其余同学进行讨论,有不同答案的必须给出理由,课堂气氛一下子就活跃起来了,最终由学生们自己总结出了答案。其实,牛津英语新课程标准从某种意义上说对老师提出了更高的要求,作为英语老师,我们要及时转换自己的角色和观念,做一名出色的节目主持人,组织好每一项课堂活动,把表演的机会给学生,让学生们展示他们的语言技能,这样才能使学生的语言知识,情感态度,学习策略和文化意识等素养才能得到发展。

听力训练处理好了后,我并没有急于进入下一个Speak up 的环节,而是增设了一个“丹顶鹤和观鸟者”的一个对话:

我觉得在同学们对扎龙的了解加深之后,需要这样一个情景对话,来检测他们对此的感观认识,这也是听说课重要的一个环节。利用对文章的理解,熟练的利用文章的信息与人沟通,解决生活实际中的问题,这也是有效课堂的体现之一。同时,我所给出的对话内容,也为下面的Speak up作了铺垫,即如何邀请同学或朋友参加某种活动,以及如何对别人的要邀请做出自己的应答(答应,回绝或到时而定).

三) 培养学生的自主能力。

在备课时我就意识到这部分的重点是如何让学生熟练掌握基本的几个固定句型,如何把这个对话应用到实际生活当中,这是本课教学的核心内容之一。在导入几个固定句型之前,我先让学生们带着问题去听录音, 问题设计的相当简单,让学生直接从中获取所听到的信息:

在第二遍放录音时,我要求同学们跟读课文,尽量模仿其语音语调,然后分角色朗读文章。让他们对这段对话有了感性认识后,紧接着就是Role-play, 同桌练习这段对话。这是一个加深记忆的过程,也为下面的我设计的情景对话打下语言基础。完成这一环节教学之后,我又提出了一个需要他们思考和发挥想象力的问题:

If we would like to accept the invitation, what should we say?

If we are very busy or we don’t want to take part in the activity, what should we say? If we can’t make a decision now, what should we say?

这时我又把主动权交给了学生,发挥他们的主观能动性和创新精神。学生的答案很多,我利用多媒体直接把他们呈现在大屏幕上,并同他们一起归纳总结出了几种回答的方式

在掌握几种回答的形式后,我又以提问的形式让学生们明白了邀请的几个注意点:时间、地点以及所参加的活动内容。

三.案例反思

一).存在的问题

1. 学生的兴致不高

新课标要能通过听力训练,培养良好地听力习惯以及获取信息的能力。《新课标》在“语言技能教学建议”部分对听前活动的建议是:明确听的目的,激发兴趣和欲望,熟悉话题,预测大意,处理关键词,布置任务。在本节课堂教学中把听力环节当作考试训练,既没有激发学生的兴趣,也没有语言知识的铺垫,而是直接播放教材中的听力任务。

2. “教过”等同于“教会”

从教学内容来看,授课内容似乎完成了,但从学生所听的情况反馈来看,大部分学生仍不能完成听后任务。因此老师教学时应追求实效,使学生学会所教内容。

3. 内容受益面不广

对于大部分农村中学,同一班级内学生英语水平差别相当大,有些听力材料有生词,句子长,加上录音中的连读,对某背景知识不了解等因素,都给学生的听力理解带来了障碍,很多学生听了2遍录音也未能完成表格,这种听力之前缺乏引导或引导强度不够,不仅不能使本单元内容有很强的心理预测,而且会给很多学生的英语学习产生挫折感,这与《新课标》提出的让学生体验学习成就感的理念相违背。所以往往听力教完,真正受益的只是班上的几个优等生。

二)解决对策

通过分析上述案例,笔者认识到在进行听力教学时,我们要考虑这样一个问题:这节课要教会学生什么,仅仅是完成听力任务中的几个空格,还是获取知识的方法?采用怎样的方法让更多的学生参与进来,最大的程度受益?在教学实践中,本人将上述听力部分的案例进行了补充与调整:

听前:教师设计了几幅鸟儿的图片,导入到扎龙自然保护区,利用他们之前对扎龙的了解激发他们想更深入了解的兴趣和愿望

听后:在检查完同学们的答案后,许多老师或者复述听力材料,或者干脆让学生再听一遍,这让很多学生仍然感到听起来很吃力,所以教师可以完整地将听力内容呈现出来,学生边看边听,记忆力深刻。

三)教学感悟

1.明确教学目标,注重教学效果

教师应依据《新课标》的理念分析教材各单元的教学目标并实施教学,而不是照本宣科地教授教材内容。针对各班的实际情况,激活学生听的动力和完成听力材料的欲望,让全体学生都参与进来,不要使一些英语基础差的同学还没开始听,就已望而却步了。

2.加强听前指导

学生的听力水平受诸多因素的影响,有些学生的知识面广,具有丰富的常识性知识与文化知识,这些知识可以有效地弥补学生语言知识和听力的不足,但也有相当多的知识需要教师加强听前指导。

3.听与说、读、写环节的联系

《新课标》的一个重要理念是听力教学环节与其他环节 ,特别是读、 说、 写、 紧密结合。并为学生说和写能力的提高在语言和内容方面奠定基础,基于此种理念:教师要充分利用听力环节,提高学生听力技巧的同时,提高学生的说写能力.
