一天,12岁的儿子放学回家,忽然问我:“妈妈,假如——假如啊,你别当真,我说的是假如。”我看他如此郑重,便有些好奇,说:“我知道你是假如,假如怎么样?”“假如,我被很严重的烧伤了,需要植皮„„”我打断孩子的话,当即接口:“妈妈自然给你我自己的皮肤。”孩子摇头:“我当然知道你会给我。可我说的不是这个。你听我说,植皮手术只能在人清醒的时候进行,如果供皮人昏死过去或者被麻醉,都不会有效果,而这种痛苦人是没法忍耐的。如果是这样,你怎么选择?”我说:“我当然选择不打麻药。”儿子说:“那你就会昏死过去了,植皮也是没用的。”我说:“那,那可怎么办呢?”“告诉你吧,有个妈妈可伟大了,她选择了不打麻药,并且要求医生在她痛昏过去时就把她唤醒,一次又一次,最后终于植皮成功。”听了孩子讲的故事,我不禁心怀惴惴:我怎么就没有想到这样的办法,难道面对那样的生死考验,我会退缩吗?这个故事一直缠绕在我的心间,为自己母爱的不够而惭愧。

时隔不久放暑假,儿子的父亲邀儿子去南方他那里。一个月之后回来,儿子对我们朴素的家便百般挑剔。他满怀羡慕喋喋不休地跟我说起父亲的大房子和漂亮的车,以及在父亲家中过的随意而奢侈的生活,然后仰头问我:“你不是总说最爱我吗?可为什么舍不得为我花钱?你为什么不能让我过像妹妹那样的生活呢?”本来欢喜的我顿时沉默了,内心百般惶惑痛苦,眼泪随即涨满眼眶。单亲8年,独自带孩子的那份艰辛困苦无法对人言,原以为孩子会懂得,哪料到糖衣炮弹是如此厉害。

面对孩子,我竟不知如何回答。忽然又想起那个伟大妈妈的故事,刹那间心地洞明。

我认真地对孩子说:“妈妈是普通女子,没有能力挣更多的钱让你过上更好的生活。并且假如你遇到类似需要植皮的生死考验,我也很可能想不出、做不到那样伟大的行为。我能够给予你的不过是人间最寻常最普通的爱:在你哭泣时会立刻把你抱起,在你需要的时候会耐心地陪你游戏,把我全部的时间和精力都给你,看着你每一天的成长。如果你觉得这些爱抵不过物质金钱,妈妈尊重你的选择,你可以去你爸爸那边生活。”

儿子愣住了,然后望着我说:“不,我要和妈妈在一起,没有妈妈在身边,那样的生活我不再羡慕。我也不期待什么生死考验,只要妈妈每天给我的那些寻常爱。”
